Terms of Service
Last updated September 20, 2026.
01The Service
DraftBloom is a writing tool. It keeps the characters, setting, structure and chapters of a book in one place and offers suggestions from AI language models at each stage. You decide what becomes part of your book: every model output arrives as a proposal you accept, edit or reject, and nothing a model writes is saved into your manuscript without that step.
02Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials private and for everything done under your account.
- One person per account. Tell us at support@draftbloom.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
03Your content stays yours
You own everything you write in DraftBloom and everything you choose to accept from a proposal. We claim no rights in your manuscripts, characters, worlds, notes or exports. You grant us only the limited licence needed to store your content, show it back to you, send the relevant parts to the AI providers that generate your proposals, and produce the exports and share links you ask for. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backups, which are cleared on their normal schedule.
We do not use your writing to train models, and our AI providers are contractually restricted from doing so with data sent through their business APIs.
04AI-generated material
Proposals are produced by third-party language models. They can be wrong, repetitive, or similar to existing works, and they carry no warranty of originality, accuracy or fitness for any purpose. You are responsible for reviewing what you accept and for the work you publish or submit. Where the law treats purely machine-generated text as unprotected by copyright, that is a matter between you and the law of your country; DraftBloom records who wrote each paragraph so you can tell your own words from proposed ones.
05Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- generate or store material that is illegal where you are, that sexualises minors, or that is intended to harass or defame a real person;
- probe, overload or interfere with the Service or its providers, or circumvent plan limits;
- resell, scrape or automate access to the Service without our written consent.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we will tell you why and let you export your work first.
06Plans, billing and cancellation
- The free plan needs no card. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance through Stripe; prices are shown on the pricing page and in checkout before you pay.
- Every plan carries limits on books, characters, chapters, and the number of AI generations and Assistant messages per month (the free plan allows 60 generations a month). Monthly counters reset on your billing date.
- You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for; you keep the paid features until then and your books afterwards.
- All charges are final and non-refundable, including renewals and unused time on an annual plan, except where the law where you live gives you a right we cannot exclude. The free trial is there so that you can decide before you are charged; see the cancellation page. Questions about a charge go to billing@draftbloom.com.
- If a payment fails we will retry it and email you. If it keeps failing the account returns to the free plan and nothing is deleted.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email; the change applies from your next renewal.
07Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available, but it depends on third parties (hosting, database, AI and payment providers) and we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may add, change or retire features. If we ever shut the Service down we will give you at least 60 days’ notice and a way to export every book.
08Warranty and liability
The Service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, and our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
09Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the account page, which cancels any subscription first and removes everything under the account. If you cannot sign in, write to privacy@draftbloom.com from the address on the account. Records we must keep for tax or legal reasons are kept for as long as the law requires and no longer.
10Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions about them, and any legal notice, go to legal@draftbloom.com; everything else about your account goes to support@draftbloom.com. Copyright notices have their own page. If we change these terms materially we will say so on this page and, for account holders, by email.
