Cancellation and refunds
Last updated September 20, 2026.
01The free plan
The free plan needs no card and never expires. It is not a trial of anything; it is a plan. If you never pay us, nothing you have written goes anywhere.
02The trial
Pro and Premium begin with 7 days free. You enter a card at checkout so the plan can continue without interruption, and Stripe emails you before the trial ends. Cancel before it ends and you are never charged. The trial is once per account.
03Cancelling
- Go to Account → Manage billing. Stripe’s portal opens; choose Cancel plan.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep every paid feature until then, and every book afterwards — the account simply returns to the free plan and its limits.
- Nothing is deleted when you cancel. Deleting the account is a separate, deliberate action on the same page.
04No refunds
All charges are final. That includes a monthly or annual renewal you forgot was coming, a plan you used less than you expected, and an annual plan cancelled part-way through. This is why the trial exists and why Stripe emails you before it ends and before every renewal: the moment to decide is before the charge, and it costs nothing to decide then.
- Cancel before a renewal and there is no charge to discuss.
- Cancel after one and you keep the plan to the end of the period you paid for.
- A charge you do not recognise at all — a card used without your permission — is a different matter: write to billing@draftbloom.com and we will look into it with Stripe.
Where the law where you live gives you a right of withdrawal or refund that cannot be excluded by these terms, that right applies; we only ask that you tell us within the period the law sets.
05Failed payments
If a renewal fails, Stripe retries over several days and emails you. Your paid features continue while it retries. If it keeps failing, the account returns to the free plan and nothing is deleted; update the card in Manage billing and the plan resumes.
06Changing plans
Upgrading takes effect immediately and Stripe charges the difference pro-rata. Downgrading takes effect at the next renewal. Switching between monthly and annual is done in the billing portal.
07Contact
Questions about a charge, an invoice or a plan change go to billing@draftbloom.com — include the email on the account and the date of the charge. The terms govern where this page and they differ.
